Dr. Allison P. M. Towner

I am a Postdoctoral Scholar working on the NASA-funded Alien Earths Project at the University of Arizona Department of Astronomy and Steward Observatory. I work on protoplanetary disks and their connections to overall protocluster environments, as well as their use as kinematic tools to measure dynamical masses of pre-main sequence (PMS) stars. I work with Dr. Josh Eisner. I was a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL from 2020-2023, where I worked with Dr. Adam Ginsburg studying massive star formation in the Milky Way. I received my Ph.D. in Astronomy in August 2020 from the University of Virginia, where my thesis advisor was Dr. Crystal Brogan of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). My thesis is entitled, "Investigating the Early Stages of Massive Star Formation in Protocluster Environments: Multiwavelength Studies of Extended Green Objects," and can be found here.
